Jiwon Park, upon graduation of Seoul National University majoring in law and admission to Korean bar, based on her experience at large size law firm and private and public companies, is providing specialized legal services related to technology disputes, trade secret, intellectual property, pharmaceutical and bio, health care, start-up, and broadcasting and communications. She is also advising and representing clients related to corporate and family laws in civil and criminal courts. In the field of intellectual property law, she serves as a legal advisor to the Ministry of Intellectual Property as well as the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO), and is also a member of the Korean Intellectual Property Attorneys Association. At Yuhan Corporation, acting as In-house counsel, she handled corporate issues including licensing, risk management and response, patent disputes, medicine price negotiations, license and permit procedure for new medicine and other litigations. She has extensive experience in protection of trade secrets including seeking preliminary (injunctive) reliefs related to trade secret infringement and payment claim as well as patent disputes. She also participated in various out-of-court negotiations in connection with infringement cases, and handling various IP cases involving technology development, licensing, license fees, transfer of assets and technology, and OEM. Jiwon Park has successfully represented a well known communication service company in 3rd instance and her arguments in relation to statutory limitation period for recordation transfer claim were recognized by the Supreme Court of Korea which was incorporated into the caselaw. She also successfully represented her clients in design infringement cases which involved automated garbage disposal system, diaper organizer, and clothing hangers. In relation to copyrights, she represented and participated in a number of copyrights cases such as representing local broadcasting companies in terrestrial retransmission and service fees case and involving copyrights of mobile games, subway access computer program, music (pop songs), literary works (books, dramas), and handwriting. She is equipped with extensive experience and ability as described above and based on her experience as In-house counsel, she has special knowledge and ability to provide professional legal advice in relation to corporate compliance and responding to respective regulations and government actions.
